WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Headroom is the available space above a garage opening for the door’s roll, cover and other relevant components in the proposed fitting position.
In practice
A roller door stores its curtain above the entrance, but the amount of space required varies with the model and door size. A sectional system typically has different overhead equipment and track requirements.
Measure local obstructions as well as the ceiling height. Beams, pipes and lights near the entrance can affect a proposal even where the rest of the garage is taller. A compact model may offer a useful option, but there is no universal headroom figure that applies to every roller door.
