WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Double-skinned slats have an outer and inner face, commonly with an insulating core between them, rather than a single sheet forming the curtain profile.
In practice
The term describes construction. The material, profile depth, core and connecting details still vary between products, so double-skinned is not a complete statement of performance.
When insulation matters, compare evidence relating to the actual door assembly and size. A figure for the centre of a slat should not be presented as the value for every complete installed door. Discuss sealing, fitting and the rest of the garage as well as the curtain construction.
