WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
A slat is one of the narrow horizontal sections linked together to form a roller garage door curtain.
In practice
The slats articulate so the curtain can roll around the barrel. Their profile, material and construction affect the complete assembly. Some designs use double-skinned sections with a foam core; others have a different construction.
Slat depth alone does not establish the thermal performance, security or suitability of a complete door. Ask about the proposed system as a whole. If a slat is damaged or appears to be catching in a guide, avoid dismantling the curtain or trying to substitute an apparently similar section.
